Meet Your Captain
Greetings! I’m Captain Chad and I’m a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain. I’ve fished in Amelia Island, FL most of my life, from backwaters to blue water, and I want to share those same areas and experiences with you. Fishing is my passion so my goal is to provide a fun-filled, humorous fishing environment for all my passengers. Whether you’re a novice angler or experienced, my goal is to make sure your fishing charter with me is enjoyable and memorable from start to finish.
Safety
Reel Amelia’s top priority is safety. Not only does our vessel have top of the line electronics including GPS, VHF Radio, and radar, but we also take it a step further with having an EPIRB on board. An EPIRB is a portable, battery-powered radio transmitter used in emergencies to locate boaters in distress and in need of immediate rescue. We also carry a GARMIN inReach which is a satellite communication device.
Equipment
Our vessel is a 2022 SeaFox 268 equipped with twin 150 Yamaha outboard motors, outriggers for days trolling the stream for Mahi-Mahi and Tuna, an i-Pilot trolling motor with spot lock, a windlass anchor, and a head in the console for the ladies. The vessel is 27ft. with one 30 gallon aquarium style livewell. There are two separate 120 quart insulated in-floor fish boxes and a comfortable lounger with an insulated beverage and food cooler underneath. Cushioned bench seating is also located at the stern of the vessel. The vessel has a cruising speed of 30-35 mph depending on the weather conditions.
Variety
Reel Amelia offers a variety of charters all throughout the year, but we also offer seasonal targeted charters. For example, in the months of April and May, it is prime time to target Mahi-Mahi. Feel free to ask the Captain when booking your charter, which, if any, species can be targeted

The Not So Small Print
Our professional staff will do our very best to make your day enjoyable, these are the rules and regulations for our charters.
Payments and Refunds
A deposit is required to reserve your charter. The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to departure of the dock on the day of your scheduled charter. If you cancel your charter within 7 days, a full deposit refund will be issued. If the charter is not canceled within 7 days or the passenger(s) are no call/no show on the day of, the deposit will be forfeited. Accepted forms of payment include cash, Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover. No checks of any kind will be accepted.Weather Policy
The Captain reserves the right to cancel a fishing charter, at any time, due to unsafe weather conditions, as safety is always the highest priority. The Captain will always try to notify the passengers in a timely manner, but this may not always occur as desired. If a charter is canceled, due to unsafe weather conditions, the charter will be rescheduled for a later date. If, during an offshore charter, the weather or seas become unsafe, the Captain reserves the right to cancel the charter or downgrade to an inshore charter. If the passenger(s) request to end the charter early, the passenger(s) will still be required to pay full price of the charter.Frequently Asked Questions
1. What will be provided during the charter? Fishing license, rods/reels, bait, tackle, and bottled water. If passengers would like to bring their own gear, that's okay, just inform the Captain prior to your charter date.2. What should I bring? Sunscreen (lotions only, no aerosol sprays). If you prefer any other beverage besides water, please feel free to bring whatever you like, but NO GLASS will be allowed on the vessel. Food/snacks; Please bring items in a soft cooler. No hard coolers will be allowed on the vessel. Any medications that you are prescribed and will need to administer during your charter. If you plan on keeping fish, please be sure to bring something to put your catch in once we return to the dock.
4. Will the fish be cleaned upon return? The Captain and/or crew will be happy to either filet or gut your catch for you to take home.
5. Is a tip required? Tips are not required, but if you had a great time and feel that Reel Amelia provided good service, tips are always appreciated by the Captain and/or crew

Reel Amelia Fishing Charters, the Captain, and crew, are not liable for any personal injury, death, or loss or damage to property and it is a condition of entry to any open boat customers or fishing charters. You hereby release, to the full extent, permitted by law once you board the vessel. As passengers, you assume any and all risks of participation onboard.
